Khao Yai Snapshots, 2

View from the gazebo.

Waking up to a family picnic breakfast. “We’re on safari, just like Meryl Streep in Out of Africa!”

Coffee, mango, and homemade blue-pea flower bread.

A thin seed.

Little purple bells, and little birds on a line.

Mo and I walk down to the water reservoir for morning exercise.

Fish attract various species of birds to the water source.

A view of the cabin complex from a well-worn watchtower.

Rudolph, late afternoon snack.

A French-Thai couple reading/snoozing under the tree.

At night, during a game of scrabble, my uncle placed down the letters Z-H-O-S. My aunt asked in exasperation, “What is this? Tomato ‘SAUCE’???” at which point a laughing fit broke out. I thought it was the funniest thing I’ve heard in a while.
